Just when it seemed the Antonio Brown helmet saga could not get any stranger … it got stranger.
The Raiders wide receiver launched a search on Twitter on Tuesday, trying to find a football helmet he can wear.
Brown tweeted, “I’m looking for a Schutt Air Advantage Adult Large Helmet that was manufactured in 2010 or after. In exchange I will trade a signed practice worn @Raiders helmet.”
Brown’s helmet ordeal has gone beyond mere football news into the realm of the bizarre. First, the NFL told him he couldn’t use his old helmet, because it was not approved anymore. Brown showed up at practice with an old Steelers helmet he had crudely repainted with colors approximating the Raiders design. More recently, Brown has refused to play without his old helmet.
