Jakub Vrána is staying in Washington.
The Capitals announced Tuesday, they have re-signed the winger to a two-year deal worth $6.7 million that carries an average annual value of $3.35 million.
“Jakub is a highly skilled player with a tremendous upside and is a big part of our future,” senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan said in a statement. “We are pleased with his development the past two seasons and are looking forward for him to continue to develop and reach his full potential with our organization.”
Vrána, 23, was selected 13th overall by the Capitals in the 2014 draft and helped the team claim its first Stanley Cup championship in 2018. He posted career highs in goals (24), assists (23) and points (47) last season.
