Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know Jimmy Kimmel’s show — “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” — has a wildly popular segment, called “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets,” in which famous actors, musicians and athletes read mean things said about them on Twitter.
While an undoubtedly funny segment, the Bruins seemingly decided the world could do with a little more positivity. And so, Boston offered its own spin-off of Kimmel’s show on Monday — but with nice tweets.
Brad Marchand, Tuukka Rask, Jake DeBrusk and others read not-so-mean tweets about themselves in the latest installment of ‘Bruins Academy.’
The tweets that were submitted could brighten anyone’s day: Matt Grzelcyk was told he’s loved with every inch of their living soul and deserves the world. Kevin Miller was called “a freakin’ beast,” Danton Heinen a “little nugget” and Charlie Coyle “an actual angel.”
Coyle even received a tweet comparing him to Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky — high praise. According to one tweet, Torey Krug was one fan’s first true love.
The video, which runs two minutes and 20 seconds, is worth the watch, even if you’re not a Boston fan.
