Hawkins sweats on match review after Schofield incident

Geelong face a nervous wait for the match review decision on star forward Tom Hawkins after he struck West Coast opponent Will Schofield with his right hand during Friday night’s win over the Eagles.

The 31-year-old would be a huge loss for the Cats if match review officer Michael Christian rules the incident as intentional, high contact that was low impact and offers Hawkins a one-game suspension.

Geelong do not have an obvious replacement for Hawkins if he does miss Friday night's preliminary final against Richmond, with Gary Rohan a potential inclusion having missed the semi-final through injury.
