Some fans bemoan the fact that Arsenal have not won the league title since, claiming it has been ‘downhill ever since’.

Others expressed a desire to return to the days where a team featuring greats such as Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Patrick Vieira proved far too strong for the rest of English football.

While the current Arsenal side have provided a Europa League final against Chelsea for their fans to look forward to, the ‘Invincibles’ gave Gunners supporters great memories for a lifetime.

They completed the 38-season with 26 wins and 12 draws, the final victory coming thanks to an Henry penalty and a Vieira winner, after Paul Dickov gave the relegated Foxes a shock lead.

Notably, however, even with that unbeaten record, Arsenal would not have won the Premier League this season.

They finished on 90 points, which would only have been good enough for third place, behind Manchester City and Liverpool on 98 and 97 respectively.

Neither City nor Liverpool avoided a league defeat last season however, meaning Gunners fans can continue to bask in the memories of a remarkable season.
