Lewis Hamilton commits to Mercedes until 2025

The Mexican Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen take another victory and Sergio Perez crashed on the first turn, but a chaotic race was turned even sourer when a fight broke out between fans in the grandstand. Footage captured on social media saw several supporters throw punches at each other before security broke up the brawl.

Security had quickly diffused the situation after several members of the crowd broke into a fight as they tumbled several rows forward in their fight.

The Grand Prix itself quickly released a statement to confirm that at least one person has been removed as a result of the fight. Responding to video on X (formerly known as Twitter) they wrote: “This person has already been removed from the circuit.”

One fan in a white shirt appeared to start fighting with two other supporters wearing red, as they appeared to be donning Ferrari colours in support of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Leclerc was involved in a collision with home hero Perez in the very first turn, which ended the Red Bull driver’s race and those in attendance at the Foro Sol stadium showed their disapproval by quickly exiting the venue, having come to cheer on their compatriot.
