Sports entertainment platform DAZN have announced the launch of a new Sky channel ahead of two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s return to boxing on April 1.
DAZN 1 HD will show round the clock content – both live and catch-up programmes – from its launch on March 23, including action from the likes of Joshua, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Katie Taylor and Ryan Garcia.
The channel – No 429 on Sky – will also feature a daily Boxing news show, entitled the DAZN Boxing Show, in addition to DAZN’s tie up with KSI’s Misfits Boxing – the X Series – a new era of crossover boxing featuring the biggest names in entertainment and sport in blockbuster bouts.
DAZN 1 HD will not solely broadcast boxing, with viewers able to watch every game of the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the Women’s Spanish top-flight Primera División Femenina.
Anthony Joshua – a long-term partner of the entertainment platform – claimed the new channel will ‘make it even easier’ for fans to tune in to his upcoming heavyweight clash with Jermaine Franklin.

‘Dazn is working really hard to take sports broadcasting to new levels and bring fans closer to the action than ever before,’ said the two-time heavyweight champion. ‘It’s a huge element of why I wanted to commit my long-term future to the platform.
‘The launch of DAZN 1 HD on channel 429 will make it even easier for fans to access my return to the ring on Saturday 1 April against Jermaine Franklin. Make sure you tune in for a spectacular night of boxing.’
In addition to boxing and football, the new channel is set to bring more obscure sports to viewers, such as skateboarding and eSports.
Documentaries focused on the World Cup will also be made available, as well as extreme sports coverage from Red Bull TV.
And there is more contact sport aside from boxing, with emerging MMA competition the Professional Fighters League, as well as a host of MMA content including, MMA Bushido and MMA Naciones.

‘We have ambitious, long-term and strategic plans for the UK market. The more people get to know Dazn and what we offer, not just in terms of rights but the full range of digital, interactive and sports entertainment we are developing, the better.
