Logan Paul admits he doesn’t know the rules for Floyd Mayweather fight

Logan Paul has admitted he doesn't know the rules for his fight against Floyd Mayweather which is due to take place on Saturday.

The YouTube star is set to enter the ring with the 50-0 unbeaten former four-weight world champion in only his second professional boxing match but is yet to get clarity on what the contest will entail.

Paul has his work cut out when he faces off with Mayweather in the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, but insist he has been working hard behind the scenes and is ready for any eventuality when the time comes.

Asked what the fight rules are, Paul told the True Geordie Podcast : "I don’t know how this is possible but I do not know.

"I’m hearing 10oz, 12oz [gloves]. I’m hearing eight rounds, I’m hearing three minutes, I’m hearing two minutes, I don’t f***ing know.

"We’re prepared for anything. We did a legit proper camp. We’re doing hard sparring rounds, 10-12 rounds, three different guys, we’re ready."

Paul was then quizzed on how he is preparing for the fight, given Mayweather's status as one of the greatest ever boxers and the notable size and weight difference.

"We’ve got a group of pros [to spar with]," he replied. "Some guys are brawlers, some guys are boxers. We try to get guys who can emulate Floyd, or at least keep the pace for small guys.

"Honestly every look we can, we get: pros, solid, solid boxers. I sparred a couple of times, [WBA light-heavyweight champion] Jean Pascal, who is on the undercard actually. It’s great work, tough guy.

"He was already here in Puerto Rico training, happened to be in the same gym and we got a couple of sessions in."

Naturally, Mayweather is the overwhelming favourite for the clash, and has claimed he "only has to show up" to beat Paul.

However, Carl Froch feels Mayweather is in danger of tarnishing his reputation if Paul springs a huge surprise.

"We could find out if Logan Paul can fight a little bit when he's in the ring with Mayweather," Froch told Sky Sports.

"Mayweather should be far too good for him. But it's exciting and it's got your interest, because Logan Paul is so big, Mayweather has been retired for so long, and you do think, 'Oh what if Mayweather ruins his whole legacy by losing to a YouTuber?'

"That's the appeal. That's going to make you watch it.

"I don't want to say he's got a chance, but he has got a chance Logan Paul, because he looks like he can shape up quite well. He's had a couple of fights and he's so big.

"Mayweather could end up making a mockery of his whole career. If he gets caught and gets put down, it will be embarrassing. If he loses, he might as well get a one-way ticket to Australia."
