Jake Paul’s promotional outfit, Most Valuable Promotions, has released a statement confirming that Paul has agreed to Tommy Fury’s demands to attempt to make their long-awaited grudge match for a third time in February at a UK venue. The statement also confirmed that MVP will pay Jake’s purse while Frank Warren will pay Fury’s.
MVP added that they are not willing to stage the contest anywhere else after suggestions were made that the fight could be hosted in Dubai with Paul refusing to ‘allow travel to be an excuse’. Fury and Warren now have seven days from today to accept the offer otherwise Paul will look elsewhere for his next opponent.
Taking to Twitter, MVP wrote: “John Fury has asked for February. Jake Paul has agreed. All that is needed now is for Frank Warren to get Tommy Fury to sign. MVP is paying Jake Paul and Frank Warren is paying Tommy Fury.
“Has to be Manchester or London. Jake Paul will not allow travel to be an excuse for this fight to not happen.”
These comments come after Tommy’s father John confirmed that Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian had verbally agreed to a February date. During the post-fight press conference for his son’s exhibition bout against Rolly Lambert, he said: “Can I say one thing here though. I have looked him down, backed him up into a corner, and check-mated him. He has agreed to a February bout.
“He shook me hand and he gave me his word of honour, his manager. It’s happening in February. I said ‘listen if you back out you’ll never live it down in your life’. You can’t break a man’s handshake.

“Contracts mean nothing to me, but a handshake means my word. He’s given me his word, his manager, we fight in February.”
In response, Paul tweeted earlier today: “Dear Frank Warren, I agree to fight Tommy in Manchester or London in Feb. I’ll come to his country, no more running. His baby is due then & you’ve said it’s no issue. Since John is adamant we’ve agreed, I am giving u (sic) 7 days to present a signed contract by Tommy or I’m moving on.”
