Godolphin galloper Avilius has been given the go ahead to run in Saturday's Cox Plate.
The-six-year-old gelding bled from one nostril on Saturday when he worked at Moonee Valley ahead of this year's running of Australia's biggest weight-for-age race.

He was ordered to work again on Tuesday morning to satisfy stewards that he was in the right shape to take his place in the field, needing to work over 1000 metres to the satisfaction of stewards to be cleared to start.
He did so to stewards' satisfaction at Flemington on Tuesday.
His trainer James Cummings had on the weekend advised stewards that the six-year-old's spring campaign had not been interrupted, and he remains a strong chance in the $5 million Cox Plate.
