MMA fighter Christian Lohsen has somehow managed to find the funny side of things after he was forced to have his testicle removed following an horrific training incident.
The 26-year-old American shared the painful news on Instagram late on Thursday evening, penning a lengthy statement, before cracking some jokes at the end.
Lohsen, based in Florida, told his fans: "So last night was rough… in a training accident I got my left testicle ruptured by a knee which led to it getting surgically removed.
"Thank you to everyone last night that helped me get to the hospital. I'm fine home resting, surgery went well.
"Doc said I won’t lose testosterone or ability to have kids from this.
"If I lose the other one however it’s a different story so from now on if you hit me in my last testicle we aren't friends… lol."
Lohsen then cracked several jokes as he tried to lighten the mood, with a series of hashtags reading: "#NoNutNovember #OneBallWonder #MMAIsADangerousGame #TookNoNutNovemberWayTooFar."
Fellow MMA fighters, such as Mike Perry, Ben Saunders, and more reached out to Lohsen on social media to offer him their best wishes.
UFC welterweight fighter Perry wrote: "Oh my gosh man. Your sacrifices will be rewarded. They have to be." And fellow fighter Saunders said: "Sending you positivity in abundance."
The 26-year-old, nicknamed 'Hollywood', is still relatively new to the MMA world, with just 11 fights to his name.
The American currently holds a 9-2 record and most recently overcame Jonas Flok in August on a Professional Fighters League card.
Lohsen has won five of his last six fights, with the defeat coming against JJ Okanovich while competing in Dana White's UFC 'Contender Series.
