Derrick Henry one of three NFL stars impressing Super Bowl winner Jay Ajayi

Super Bowl winner Jay Ajayi has been impressed by ‘king’ Derrick Henry this season, as well as Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf.

Ajayi, who was part of the Philadelphia Eagles side that won SB LII, is currently without a side having struggled since suffering a torn ACL in the 2018 season.

The London-born running back is keeping an eye on the league though as he stays in shape and has hope of returning to the NFL.

Tennessee Titans star Henry was the rushing yards leader last year and looks set to retain his crown this year having already surpassed his tally from 2019.

And Ajayi has named Henry as one of three stars that have caught his eye during the current season, along with Packers ace Rodgers and Seahawks receiver Metcalf.

“Aaron Rodgers, how he’s been playing, has been impressive,” Ajayi told Daily Star Sport as the RB looks to keep fit with hopes of returning to action.

“DK Metcalf is impressive, Derrick Henry, the back-to-back rushing title he’s about to get, has been impressive.

“He [Henry] knows who is, he’s the king and he’s playing like it. He’s doing really well.

“It’s been an exciting season and I’m excited to see who actually wins.

“The Chiefs are doing well but you just never know what’s going to happen, the Browns are impressing too.”

Ajayi became Philadelphia Union’s eSports player at the start of the year though has now stepped away from that amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He added: “I’m doing well right now, I’m just trying to stay corona free and enjoy the holidays with the family.

“I’m staying in shape, but the world right now is interesting. It’s hard trying to stay safe and take care of what I need to do.
