Tiger Woods has non-life threatening injuries and is conscious.

The golf icon was been rushed for emergency surgery after being involved in a horror car crash in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning local time.

Woods suffered multiple leg injuries in the crash, in which his car rolled off the road in Rancho Palos Verdes with no others involved.

According to Fox News, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department say that Tiger was conscious after the crash, and that his injuries are non life-threatening.

They add that there was no reason to do a sobriety check, and that he had been driving down hill before the roll-over took place.

Agent Mark Steinberg had said: "Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries.

"He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."
