Avery Williamson celebrates Jets exit with hilarious IG post after Steelers trade

Avery Williamson couldn’t wait to join the Steelers after being traded by the Jets Sunday night.

The breakdown of the trade is as such (per multiple reports):

Williamson now leaves a winless Jets team (0-8) and joins an undefeated Steelers team (7-0). The move is also the second time this season that the Jets have traded a player after playing a game on Sunday. The first player was defensive tackle Steve McLendon, who was traded to the Buccaneers earlier this season. The Jets also traded defensive end Jordan Willis to the 49ers earlier in the week.

Williamson was so excited about the trade that he didn’t even get out of his Jets uniform while seeking a ride to Pittsburgh.

Williamson’s Instagram post was met with thousands of comments, one of which was another former Jets star.

Jamal Adams, who had a public feud with the Jets during the offseason before being traded to the Seahawks, commented on Williamson’s post. The two former Jets players said they’re excited about a potential Super Bowl matchup between them should the Steelers and Seahawks reach that point.

For Williamson, this is a great move. Going from a winless franchise to an undefeated one is a rare occurance, and he seems excited about the deal. For the Jets, it’s a continuation of a fire sale in a lost season.
