Darren Sproles’ return to the field might have to wait.
The Eagles running back re-injured his hamstring in practice Wednesday and likely won’t play against the Cowboys on Sunday night, according to ESPN, citing sources.
Sproles originally hurt his hamstring in practice leading up to Week 2’s game. He has been sidelined as it healed, but was expected to return this week.
In his lone game this season against the Falcons, Sproles rushed for 10 yards and had 4 receiving yards.

The setback means Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement will continue sharing the backfield and could share punt return duties.
DeAndre Carter was the Eagles’ punt returner in Sproles’ absence, but he was waived Tuesday and picked up by the Texans on Wednesday.
