Our Week 8 fantasy QB rankings get a bit of boost this week from the return of top producers Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Ben Roethlisberger. However, the bye weeks wipe out some of the other top QBs, notably Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers. That will make finding sleepers a bit harder this week, and owners may have to be vigilant on the waiver wire to try and find some solid options. After all, no QB gets a boost from playing the Falcons this week, so that will thin out the waiver crop just a bit.
Additionally, one of the popular strategies among fantasy owners this week has been to stream the QB playing against the Buccaneers. This week, that won’t work as well because Andy Dalton is that guy. Dalton is likely owned in most leagues and highly rated by us this week, cracking the top five for the first time this season. If you’re looking for some solid streamers, Mitchell Trubisky (vs. Jets), Baker Mayfield (@ Steelers), and Case Keenum (@ Chiefs) all qualify. Trubisky is probably the best of those options given that he is taking on an injury-riddled Jets secondary.
Week 8 Rankings:
Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker
It’s also important to remember that there is another London game this week. The Jaguars and Eagles will square off across the pond, so it will be critical to make lineup decisions about players on those teams before their 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff. Carson Wentz is the player to watch at QB, and we have him a bit lower than normal this week. He can still be played, but it’s much riskier than normal.
Note: We’ll be updating our QB rankings throughout the week, so check back often.
