The New England Patriots cut veteran Lamar Miller on Saturday just a month after signing the former Pro Bowl running back.
Miller, over a year removed from an ACL injury that cost him to miss all of 2019, only had a week of full practicehaving just came off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list Monday.
The Patriots opted to release Miller to slim down to their 53-man roster.
The running back signed with New England at the start of training camp on a one-year, $1.05 million deal with $200,000 guaranteed.
Millerhas rushed for 800-plus yards in five different seasons in the league, having played for the Houston Texans (2016-19) most recently. Miller was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft before spending four seasons with the franchise.
