WWE opened its Crown Jewel pay-per-view Friday in Saudi Arabia with the return of professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, who served as the host for the event. Hogan’s appearance inside a WWE ring is his first since he was fired in 2015.
Hogan’s contract was terminated by the company after an audio recording containing Hogan making racist remarks was posted online, but the 65-year-old has maintained over the years that he hoped to make a return to the wrestling business. Earlier this year, WWE reinstated Hogan to the WWE Hall of Fame, opening the door to his eventual return to programming.
In a short, energetic segment, Hogan pumped up the crowd with his usual catchphrases and flexed for the crowd.
