Lewis Hamilton has claimed he will “always be with Mercedes” and admitted he can “race for quite a bit longer” amid rumours Daniel Ricciardo could replace him. It comes after speculation he could become a quick replacement for Hamilton if he decides to walk away from the sport.

However, Hamilton used the opportunity to end doubts over his F1 future, suggesting he could carry on for years to come. Speaking in the press conference, Hamilton said: “I will always be with Mercedes until the day I die and I feel like I can race for quite a bit longer.”

Hamilton also defended Ricciardo, claiming the former Red Bull star should be on the grid next season.
