Melbourne have signed former Essendon forward Mitch Brown as a rookie for the 2020 season.
Brown began training with the Demons on Tuesday and has joined the club as a supplemental selection period player.
Delisted by the Bombers earlier this year, the 29-year-old has played 70 games for Geelong and Essendon since 2011.
“We are pleased to officially welcome Mitch to Melbourne through the SSP and have him join us as a rookie for this season,” Demons general manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said.
“Mitch has shown great resilience throughout his career, and is a skilful, versatile player who has proven he is capable of having an impact at AFL level.
“We feel his experience at both ends of the ground and his elite endurance will make him a great addition to our list.
“We are confident Mitch will transition smoothly into our football program.”
He played 15 games for the Cats before joining the Bombers. In 2019 he played 16 games and kicked 21 goals for a career tally of 68.
