Wild about Harry …

It’s incredible to believe that this is the first time that Harry Grant has started for the Storm. Grant will wear the No.14 jersey, pushing Brandon Smith to lock. What a one-two punch they provide.

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy said Grant’s combination with his teammates will improve over time.

“I think he’s only played seven NRL games at our club,” Bellamy said.

“He’s adds a different quality to our dummy-half play, him and Brandon have been working really well in tandem. I’m really happy with how they are going at the moment.”

Welcome back Wade …

Cronulla has been boosted by the return of Wade Graham from concussion.

“It’s hugely significant for us as a group,” said caretaker Cronulla coach Josh Hannay in his pre-game interview.

“He sets the tone, he embodies what the club is about. We certainly benefit as a group when Wade is out there.

“He’s the ultimate competitor so he’s definitely up for this contest tonight.”

Welcome to Friday night footy!

Good evening and welcome to another night of magic and mayhem that only rugbaaa league can provide.

We start off with Melbourne hosting Cronulla in the Will Chambers Cup. This will be the first time the long-time Storm centre lines up against his former team.

“It’s very different, it’s a strange old feeling to be honest,” Chamber said just before kick-off.

“I’m just happy and privileged to be playing rugby league, being back in the NRL.

“I’m excited, we’ll see how it all goes.”

Asked if he felt nervous facing the Storm, he replied: “You know what it’s like, it’s hard to come home at times. It’s nerve-racking as hell, it’s like a State of Origin to be honest.”

And for the second game of the night, it will be Brisbane up against the Gold Coast.

This will be another opportunity for David Fifita to show just how much the Broncos miss him.

Is an upset on the cards? Will serial sledger Will Chambers make the ears of his former Storm teammates bleed?

All will soon be revealed. So settle in, relax and enjoy your Friday footy!
