NSW are on the verge of a historic series clean sweep that will likely never be achieved again.
The Blues are chasing their first series clean sweep since 2000 and their fourth in the history of the format but can claim a unique slice of history.

With Covid relocating the opening match from Melbourne to Townsville, game two at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and NSW’s fresh coronavirus outbreak pushing the finale from Stadium Australia to Newcastle, then to the Gold Coast, NSW can sweep Queensland with all three matches north of the border.
Short of another pandemic, it’s hard to see another time where all three games would be played in one state, but even more unthinkable that it could be a massive clean sweep for the visitors in Queensland.
With a 76-6 result so far across both games this series, NSW have been untouchable and in Tuesday night’s episode of NRL 360, Queensland Origin great Billy Moore said there is plenty on the line in the match.
“Queensland can’t win the series but there is so much more to lose for Queensland in this match,” he said. “Whether it be the coach or coaching staff or a couple of key players, this game has ramifications for 2022 and to think we’ve played three games on our turf, if we come up with a whitewash here, there’s going to be some soul searching and a few guys’ jobs won’t be there come next season.
“Over the last four decades, there have been multiple times where Queensland look like that’s it, Origin’s dead, backs to the wall — and we find something special. If we lose this series, it will put the microscope back on ourselves but we will find an answer.”

What time does State of Origin game three start?
State of Origin Game III is scheduled to kick off at 8.10pm AEST on Wednesday July 14. The start time has been pretty much nailed throughout the series.
It will be the first time an Origin match has been held at the Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium.
How can I watch?
The game will be broadcast live on Channel 9.
Australia’s No. 1 sports streaming service Kayo will have pre-game coverage from 6pm (AEST), as well as a wrap up straight after fulltime before a full replay of the clash starting at 10.45pm.
Who is the pre-match entertainment?
Pre-match entertainment at game three will feature Lime Cordiale and JK47. Lime Cordiale are a pop rock group from Sydney, while JK-47 is an Indigenous rapper from Tweed Heads.
The reaction to the entertainment before Origin I with the Veronicas and Origin II with Sheppard has been mixed.
