Ander Herrera trolls ex-Man Utd pal Marcos Rojo after Boca Juniors bust-up

Following Boca Juniors elimination from the Copa Libertadores last night against Atletico Mineiro, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder poked fun at former team-mate Marcos Rojo.

Boca Juniors were knocked out on penalties after two successive 0-0 draws in the two-legged Round of 16 tie, with Rojo being the only Boca player to net his spot-kick.

After the game, the Boca Juniors players were involved in a scuffle as they tried to gain access to the Brazilian side’s dressing room to discuss a controversial VAR decision that went against them.

The incident was caught on tape and it was ugly with one player picking up a metal railing and attempting to throw it before he was stopped by his teammates.

Also involved in the scuffle was Rojo, who picked up a fire extinguisher and threatened to throw it, before also being stopped by a member of staff.

On a bizarre and wild evening, eight members of the club's delegation were arrested after clashes with police and security in the ground.

Herrera, meanwhile, after seeing the footage, took to Instagram to share an image of him and his former Manchester United team-mate.

He cropped on a fire extinguisher in the Argentine’s hands in a picture of the two players celebrating whilst they played at Old Trafford.

Speaking after the match, Boca Juniors President Juan Roman Riquelme defended his players’ actions as he believed they were defending themselves: "Of course the players were going to defend themselves if they had pepper spray thrown on their faces."

It’s believed that all the members from the Boca delegation went to the police station after the Argentina ambassador in Belo Horizonte intervened to stop the Argentina internationals involved from being detained.

Both clubs are expected to face sanctions for the trouble they caused in the coming days although the extent of it is still unclear.
