Arsenal: Club told to be patient with Arteta by Dublin
Arsenal are said to be exploring the possibility of a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt. Mikel Arteta will be desperate for reinforcements in the January transfer window should he keep his job into the New Year and it’s clear the board may need to back their manager if the Gunners are to make anything of their season.
The Gunners are starved of goals and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has found the net on just three occasions in the Premier League this season.
He has managed 22 in each of his previous two campaigns and his agent recently took a swipe at Arteta’s negative tactics when explaining his client’s poor form in front of goal.
Arsenal’s are lacking creativity in the final third and much of that is down to the lack of productivity from their underperforming wingers.
Summer signing Willian has failed to replicate his Chelsea form in north London since arriving on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Nicolas Pepe is still feeling the effects of his £72million price tag following his arrival from Lille in 2019.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal are weighing up a move for Germany international Brandt, who is currently out of favour at Dortmund.
That could soon change though following the dismissal of Lucien Favre.
Brandt has remained on the bench for each of Edin Terzic’s first two Bundesliga games in charge at Signal Iduna Park and there is a chance Brandt could move on when the January transfer window opens.

The 24-year-old, who has been capped 35 times by his country, arrived at Dortmund in 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen.
Talk of a move to Arsenal is not the first time he’s been linked with a switch to the Premier League.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was keen on bringing the star to Anfield back in 2018 but the attacker soon put a stop to speculation claiming he wanted to play regularly.
“If you make the move, there is no guarantee that you’ll play,” said Brandt.
“I believe that it’s important that I get a lot of games next season, and that is a given here at Leverkusen.”
Arsenal are looking to bolster their attacking options this winter in a bid to get Aubameyang firing again.
The club have just missed out on Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai, who has joined RB Leipzig from Salzburg.
Arteta was keen on the 20-year-old last summer before securing a second loan deal for Dani Ceballos with Real Madrid.
Yet just as former Salzburg team-mate Erling Braut Haaland did a year ago, Szoboszlai decided to snub a Premier League move in favour of the Bundesliga.
