Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has begun overhauling his side as he aims to guide the Gunners away from the Premier League relegation zone.
The clear-out started with Sead Kolasnic joining Bundesliga side Schalke on loan, and Arteta more than hinting others will follow the Bosnian through the exit door this month.
Arteta’s side have struggled in the top-flight this season, but have experienced a revival over Christmas, beating Chelsea and Brighton.
But the need for reinforcements, and departures, is clear as the Spaniard seeks to stamp his vision on the team now the January transfer window has begun.
Here’s the latest Arsenal transfer news.
Gunners target Celtic star
Arsenal are reportedly hoping that Kieran Tierney can help the club pursue a move for Celtic star Ryan Christie as they look to sign creative players.
Attacking-midfielder Christie has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs, including Leicester, Newcastle, Southampton, Brighton and Burnley, after three highly impressive seasons at Celtic.
90min.com say that the 25-year-old would be more of a budget option than other targets on their list.
Arsenal urged to move for Isco
Arteta has been urged by former striker Darren Bent to focus his attention on Real Madrid ’s Isco as their hunt for a new playmaker, insisting that they should not rely too much on youngster Emile Smith Rowe.
"I think bringing in a player like Isco with his quality I think would be a good signing," Bent said on talkSPORT.
"I know things are going well at the minute but you need cover. Smith Rowe's been very good the last couple of games but he's only young.
"We know Smith Rowe's stepped up but we cannot all of a sudden depend on him for the rest of the season.
"He's young, he's only played a couple of games, but someone like Isco might raise the dressing room, the quality, the front players will quite enjoy playing with a player like him, his creative nature.”
Dortmund ace ‘tempted’ by move
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt is tempted by a move to Arsenal this month, according to reports in Germany.
Sport Bild claim that he is another target for the Gunners, thought Dortmund are keen to hold on to the Germany international.
Brandt has slipped down the pecking order at Dortmund this season, and would be keen the possibility of a move to the Premier League, the report states.
