Arsenal Women have denied any wrongdoing after being charged by the Football
Association for alleged discrimination when dismissing a former employee.
The FA announced in a statement that Arsenal Women had allegedly discriminated “by reason of disability” against a former staff member, who was sacked in 2014.
An Arsenal spokesperson said: “We refute any suggestion of discrimination in this case and will defend the charge accordingly.”
The FA said: “Arsenal Women FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E4.
“It is alleged that, when dismissing a former employee in 2014, the club carried out an act of discrimination by reason of disability which was not otherwise permitted both by law and the rules and regulations of The FA.”
