Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool stars feature in incredible free agents XI

Every summer throws up some of the biggest names in the game who are available for absolutely nothing after leaving their clubs.

Having teetered over signing a new contract, Europe’s elite clamour to snap up world class talents without having to pay a penny.

This summer will be absolutely no different, with players from the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona all set to leave their clubs.

Plenty are expected to land a new deal before it comes to that, while others are being lined up by potential suitors.

Either way, it’s set to be a thrilling transfer window when it comes to the free agents market.

So here is Daily Star Sport’s best possible XI of free agents this summer.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma

The AC Milan stalwart has been one of the best goalkeepers since he burst onto the scene in the Serie A as a teenager.

Donnarumma is most likely to agree a new deal in Milan, but has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United.

RB: Emerson

One of the most promising full-backs La Liga has seen in recent years, Real Betis are yet to tie Emerson down to a new deal.

There is talk of a return to Barcelona, while Arsenal are also eyeing him as possible a replacement for Hector Bellerin if the Spaniard leaves.

CB: Sergio Ramos

In a very unlikely twist, it remains unclear whether Ramos will stay at Real Madrid past this season with his contract due to expire.

There has been talk of a move to Manchester United, but it’s likely the Los Blancos skipper will end up staying in the Spanish capital.

CB: Eric Garcia

Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia has emerged as one of the most exciting defenders in the world over the last couple of years.

Garcia is expected to follow in the footsteps of Cesc Fabregas by returning to boyhood club Barcelona after breaking through in England.

LB: David Alaba

Typically a centre-back these days, Austrian utility man Alaba is still one of the best defenders in the world.

It looks like the Bayern Munich 28-year-old will be joining Real Madrid after snubbing the advances of several Premier League sides.

CM: Gini Wijnaldum

A midfielder Liverpool are desperate not to lose, all the signs are pointing towards a summer exit for Wijnaldum.

Like several names on this list, Barcelona are keen on the Holland international, with Ronald Koeman a known admirer.

CM: Julian Draxler

Having been in and out of the PSG side this season, it looks like German playmaker Draxler will be sent on his way this summer.

It has been claimed that Draxler has been offered to Bayern Munich, while he is also exactly the sort of player Arsenal are looking for.

CM: Hakan Calhanoglu

Turkish set-piece wizard Calhanoglu is all set to leave AC Milan at the end of the season, and there has been talk of a move to the Premier League.

A move across northern Italy to Juventus seems a more likely scenario, however.

RW: Lionel Messi

They don’t come much bigger than this – footballing legend Messi could be available to a potential suitor for absolutely nothing.

The Argentine hero may well bury the hatchet with Barcelona, but could that move to Manchester City to reunite with Pep Guardiola finally happen?

LW: Memphis Depay

Usually a striker but a versatile forward all the same, former Manchester United flop Depay is now regarded a world class talent.

Juventus and Barcelona are said to be in the race for the Dutchman’s signature if he does leave Lyon this summer.
