Chelsea fans have changed their opinion on Saul Niguez after the midfielder's impressive performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 27-year-old shone as the Blues came away with a 2-0 first-leg advantage in their Carabao Cup semi-final.
It was comfortably the Spaniard's best appearance in a Chelsea shirt after a tough start to life in west London following his summer loan move from Atletico Madrid.
Saul was hooked 45 minutes into his debut against Aston Villa in September and failed to impress against the Midlands side once more in the Carabao Cup just over a week later.
He has been something of a peripheral figure ever since and endured another embarrassing half-time exit last month in the 2-1 win away to Watford.
But as injuries and Covid problems mount up, Saul has been presented with a golden opportunity to get back into Thomas Tuchel's good books.
The midfielder was handed only his seventh start in a Blues shirt against Spurs, and it was a chance he seemed to grasp with both hands with a superb all-round display.
His performance didn't go unnoticed by Chelsea fans who took to Twitter to praise the Spanish international's new found vigour.

One person wrote: "Got to give it to him, he’s been great. I wrote him off completely. Well done @saulniguez!"
Someone else said: "He has finally awakened."
Another user commented: "His best game in the shirt."
While a fourth user added: "Saul, the real man of the match. Brilliant all round performance."
Chelsea fans weren't the only ones full of praise for Saul.
Speaking after the match, Blues boss Tuchel gushed over his performance.
Asked if the midfielder is finally settling in to life at the Bridge, Tuchel replied: "Yeah he is. He is more happy, he is more free in training, I see it every day.
"He played better when he came on against Wolves, he already had a good impact. So he’s stepping up and stepping up.
"I was so happy when I saw him on the sideline when we scored the equaliser and the 2-1 against Liverpool, he was totally committed, it was very, very impressive to see him like this.
"So this is an important moment for him but I have a feeling like he digested the experiences in the beginning, where he maybe did not expect it like this – he’s not the first player to struggle from the switch.
"And what he does is good because he’s open, he’s fully focused and totally committed to the team so I’m very happy he had a performance like today where it was a huge step up."
