Chelsea have been fined £25,000 by the FA for 'ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion' in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

The Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy started a melee when he kicked the ball at Jordan Henderson following Mohamed Salah's first-half stoppage-time equaliser last month.

And it saw Thomas Tuchel's stars move in to protect their shot-stopper, shoving the Reds captain out the way.

But Sky Sports News have reported that Chelsea have been fined on Wednesday afternoon for the players' actions.

The Anfield visitors were already feeling frustrated, having seen full-back Reece James get sent off minutes earlier.

With Chelsea 1-0 up, the Englishman had cleared a ball off the line from Sadio Mane's effort – but VAR judged he had used his arm.

And referee Anthony Taylor's quick pitch-side review saw him pull out a straight red and award a Liverpool penalty.

The Reds' top scorer Salah cooly slotted past Mendy as the Senegalese international went the wrong way.

But captain Henderson was the target of the goalkeeper due to his long run-up during the kick.

And the 29-year-old smashed the ball into the Liverpool midfielder's legs.

Chaos then followed as players from both sides crashed in to get their point across.

Chelsea had frustrations following the game, with only 65 seconds between Taylor stopping the match and getting the red card out of his pocket, taking only a glance at the pitch-side monitor.

And Tuchel fumed at Premier League officials after the match, saying: "The red card spoils the game, I have no solution for it because maybe it is a red card because he denies a chance but it is also a deflection.

"I don't know what happens and what doesn't happen anymore. I was worried the referee looked at one photo and decided it was a red card.

"I would have liked a longer check. I can remember referees that explained if it is a deflection and it is not a very unnatural arm position it is not a penalty."
