Chelsea’s pursuit of a world class striker this transfer window has showed no signs of letting up.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland, 20, over the past few months.
But Chelsea have faced several setbacks in their pursuit with Dortmund unwilling to let the Norwegian powerhouse leave this year, having already lost Jadon Sancho to Manchester United this window.
Thomas Tuchel has now had to turn his attention to other potential signings as he desperately looks to add a clinical edge to Chelsea’s front-line.
Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Chelsea transfer news below.
Chelsea ramp up Lewandowski pursuit
Chelsea are set to make Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski their primary target this summer.
The Blues could end their pursuit of Dortmund starlet Haaland following months of transfer speculation by turning their attention to the spectacular Pole.
Haaland looks set to remain at Dortmund for another year after Chelsea were unable to match the side's £150million valuation.
Lewandowski meanwhile has two years left on his contact with Bayern hoping to extend his deal beyond 2023, but the German giants could be tempted to let him go if Chelsea offer £50million, as reported by The Sun.
Lewandowski is 12 years Haaland’s senior but still manages to outdo himself every season, scoring a record 41 league goals in 29 appearances in the previous campaign.
Abraham’s future remains unclear
Do you think Abraham deserves to stay and earn a spot in the Chelsea XI next season? Let us know in the comments section.
Striker Tammy Abraham’s future at Chelsea is still no closer to being decided after Olivier Giroud left for AC Milan last week.
Abraham, 23, is currently training with the pre-season squad where he is hoping to impress Tuchel after a season in which he was increasingly left on the side-lines.
Tuchel regularly opted for Germans Timo Werner and Kai Havertz as his forward options and remains eager to bring in an elite striker this summer.
Abraham’s £40million valuation, however, has reportedly deterred interest from Premier League sides West Ham United and Aston Villa.
Youngster Broja remains a Blue
Highly-rated Chelsea youngster Armando Broja has agreed a new five-year-deal with the club, as reported by The Athletic.
The 19-year-old striker is regarded one of the Chelsea academy’s best graduates and impressed at Vitesse Arnhem last season where he scored 10 goals in 30 matches.
Broja scored a goal in Chelsea’s first friendly win over Peterborough United on Saturday and could remain part of the first team if the club fail in their attempts to sign a striker this summer.
