Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger had to be held back from confronting Leeds players after both sets of players came to blows in a tense moment after their game on Saturday. There was plenty of controversy in the match at Stamford Bridge with referee Chris Kavanagh pointing to the spot on three occasions.
Raphinha had given the visitors the lead with a penalty inside the opening 30 minutes before Mason Mount equalised with a fine finish.
Tempers began to flare though in the second half though with Kavanagh seemingly struggling to keep things under control.
Chelsea were awarded a penalty of their own on the hour mark with Jorginho firing past Illan Meslier.
But Leeds thought they had stolen a point in the dying embers of the match as young Joe Gelhardt came off the bench to equalise for Leeds.
However, there was more controversy to follow in stoppage time as Mateusz Klich was ruled to have fouled Rudiger inside the box.
VAR took a look at the infringement before deciding to stick with the on-field decision for a penalty.
Illan Meslier was among a handful of Leeds players who angrily protested Kavanagh’s decision, picking up a yellow card in the process.
Jorginho kept his nerve from the spot though to score his second of the game.
It proved to be the winning goal for Chelsea, who kept tabs with both Manchester City and Liverpool.
But tempers flared at the final whistle with Chelsea and Leeds players confronting one another by the corner flag.
Cameras zoomed in to see Rudiger at the centre of it all with Leeds players seemingly incensed the the Chelsea defender.
Lukaku was then spotted running in to pull Rudiger away from the mayhem, but Rudiger still appeared furious.
