Christian Pulisic caught out by lie detector after being asked about Kai Havertz

Christian Pulisic was cheekily caught out in a lie detector test when he was asked about his Chelsea teammate Kai Havertz.

The American sat down with pals Kai Havertz and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as they were quizzed, but there was one question in particular that the 23-year-old stumbled on.

The interrogation was posted onto Chelsea's YouTube channel, with the winger being asked whether he thought the German international deserved an upgrade in FIFA 23, set to be released later this month.

When he answered yes, the lie detector was quick to say he thought otherwise. Awkwardly laughing, Pulisic said: "He answered that so quickly. He didn't even look [at the monitor]. Apparently, I'm lying"

Havertz, looking ever so slightly annoyed, said: "It's not fair."

When the former Borussia Dortmund player was asked what rating he thought Havertz deserved, he said: "I think he should be at least 86." Havertz quickly chimed in and said: "Thank you geezer."

The presenter was left in hysterics before moving on, with Pulisic getting away without having the brutal buzzer going off again. In FIFA 22 Havertz was given a modest 84, with the rating staying the same in the new EA Sports game.

The pair haven't had the best time at the West London club, with Pulisic managing just eight goals and five assists in 38 games last season and Havertz having a slightly more impressive run out for the Blues having scored 14 goals and assisting his teammates six times in 47 appearances.

Chelsea haven't had the strongest start to the new season either, with Thomas Tuchel already being shown the door as the side sit seventh in the Premier League. FIFA ratings will be the last thing on the players' minds as they look to improve under Graham Potter.
