Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed details of a conversation he had with Anthony Joshua in 2019.
Juventus star Ronaldo is one of the best footballers in the world, while Joshua is at the top of the heavyweight division in boxing.
And when two champions collide, there’s often a lot of knowledge and talent that can be shared.
It seems it was no different when Ronaldo and Joshua met in Dubai, with mindset seemingly a top talking point.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star told Gennady Golovkin as part of DAZN's Parallel Worlds: “We had the opportunity to speak last year in Dubai, I was with Joshua and we had conversation.
“Thirty-three years old is that age where you start to feel down.
“I don’t wanna be in the sport, in football, where people say, ‘Cristiano was an unbelievable player and now he’s slow’.
“I don’t want that. You can take care a lot of your body, the body’s not a problem I don’t think.
“It’s here [points to his head], your motivation, experience. I think this is the most tough.
Cristiano Ronaldo names dream he is still yet to accomplish in glittering career
“In sport, you can gain maturity. Look at [Roger] Federer in tennis; he’s 37 or 38 years old, and he’s still at his peak, and there are some in boxing too.
“Between watching a football match or a boxing or UFC fight, I choose boxing or UFC.
“I don’t think I could have been a boxer, it’s tough. You have to be born for that, with that gift.”

Joshua has previously praised Ronaldo’s mental toughness, saying: "You need mental strength, he's proved that.
“He's a family man, he's got that aspect, but still out working and he's dedicated to what he does.
“So as a sportsman he's had the issues of one side, he's got the family on the other side, and he balances what he's passionate about.
“He completes all the packages, so I like Ronaldo for that reason."
