Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been accused of "blatantly lying" to Donny van de Beek after claiming the out-of-favour midfielder was in his plans this season.
That's the accusation levelled by Paul Ince, who believes the Norwegian has not been telling the truth to the former Ajax man.
Van de Beek had found game time hard to come by since his £35million move last summer.
The 24-year-old has only managed six minutes of action in the Premier League this season, having started on the bench for six of the club's opening seven league matches.
He started in the third-round Carabao Cup defeat at the hands of West Ham and the shock 2-1 loss to Young Boys in the Champions League, but aside from that Van de Beek has had to watch on from the sidelines.
It has been a tough ask for a player who was touted as one of Europe's brightest and best during his time at Ajax, and his frustration appeared to boil over in United's 2-1 comeback win over Villarreal.
While Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan were overseeing the late introductions of Jesse Lingard and Fred, Van de Beek looked furious in the background.
In full view of the camera, the Dutch star took his chewing gum out of his mouth and threw it down by Phelan in the technical area.

Former United star Ince can understand Van de Beek's frustration at watching the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba getting so much playing time ahead of him in the pecking order.
Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, he said: “If I’m going to buy a player, a top player from Ajax, the first thing I’m going to say is, ‘Am I going to play? Where do you see me fitting in, within the system, within the team?’
“As a manager, you have two choices: you can either tell the truth or not tell the truth.
“From what I’m seeing for the last year and a half, he’s not told Donny the truth, he hasn’t had any game time. He’s got £35million sitting on the bench.
“I can hold my hands up if I’m on the bench and the team are winning and playing well.
“You can’t tell me that Fred and McTominay are playing well week in and week out, and even Pogba because they’re not.
“But he seems to play them all the time, and I’m sitting there watching them play, I would be livid.”
