England fans ‘storm gates at Wembley’ to get into ground before Euro 2020 final

The gates at Wembley have been stormed by supporters, according to reports, just hours ahead of England's Euro 2020 final clash against Italy on Sunday evening.

Wembley was selected to the host the final of Euro 2020, and it has already been the scene of both semi-finals as well as Group D – the group of England and Scotland.

Thousands of England fans have descended upon London ahead of the tournament's final on Sunday evening.

And fans clamouring for a view of England at their first major tournament final since the 1966 World Cup have reportedly stormed into the stadium.

Sam Wallace tweeted: "Febrile atmosphere at Wembley. This is near the main entrance to Club Wembley a few minutes ago where it looked like a group of fans broke through the security cordon.

"Stewards currently chasing people around. Not sure they’ll get all the way to the wine and canapés."

Fans could be seen running up stairs in the video attached, and, in other videos, fans can be seen battling with Euro 2020 stewards as they attempt to pass them.

Whilst, in another clip, fans can be seen shaking the metal fencing, as security guards rush over in an attempt to stop it from toppling over.

England reached their first final in the Euros on Wednesday evening, when they beat Denmark thanks to Harry Kane's penalty in extra-time.

And England fans have been wanting to savour the occasion, however, ugly scenes have broken out throughout he day following reports of England fans fighting with stewards ahead of the clash.
