Fans want ‘Liverpool gang back together’ at Villa with Suarez to leave Atletico

Aston Villa supporters, and even rival fans, are in favour of putting the 'Liverpool gang back together' with reports Luis Suarez is set to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

The Uruguayan forward has nine goals in 26 appearances this campaign but Spanish outlet Cope claim that Los Rajablancos will not be extending his contract.

The report states that MLS side Inter Miami are currently favourites to sign the five-time La Liga winner, but football fans are calling for Suarez to snub a move to America and join his ex-Liverpool team-mates at Aston Villa.

Following Phillipe Coutinho's recent arrival at the Birmingham-based club, Suarez would have the opportunity to play alongside the Brazilian for the third time in his career, having done so at Barcelona too.

On Tuesday evening, Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa unveiled their latest signing after it was announced they had agreed a loan deal with Barcelona until the end of the season.

The silky Brazilian was a team-mate of Gerrard's at the Reds before transferring to Barca for a club-record fee.

The Blaugrana forked out £142m for Coutinho's signature in 2018 but he failed to replicate his sizzling form in Catalunya and has been allowed to leave the Camp Nou due to their depleting financial situation.

And now football fans are united in wanting the Villains to announce one more signing to complete a famous reunion at Villa Park.

"I’m a Liverpool and I would love to see that. Even aged 34/35 that guy would bag at least 15 goals in a season. Probably more," tweeted one fan.

"Get him at Villa now, Sturridge too whilst you’re at it," said another.

"Let’s get the gang back together," commented a third.

While one supporter joked: "Good job Norwich are getting relegated, they’d be frightened."
