Arsenal’s reported move for Fiorentina talisman Dusan Vlahovic has seen the Gunners focus their midfield targets elsewhere after it was revealed the deal would cost them £150million over five years. With plenty of midfielders out of contract at the end of the season, Mikel Arteta will likely cast his net far and wide to see where the best deal is for his side. Express Sport takes a look at four potential options for the Spaniard to choose.

Denis Zakaria

Zakaria has been a mainstay in Borussia Monchengladbach’s starting XI since his move from Young Boys back in June 2017.

The Swiss midfield general has made 144 appearances for Die Fohlen, scoring 11 goals in the process.

Renowned as a box-to-box midfielder, Zakaria has earned the plaudits of many as he cements himself as one of the Bundesliga’s top talents.

And despite reported interest from Manchester United, Arsenal could offer him more first-team opportunities – thus sealing a move to the Emirates.

Boubacar Kamara

Kamara has already made over 100 appearances for Les Olympiens at the age of just 22.

Standing at 5ft 10in, he joined the club at five years old, and made his debut aged 17.

With a young contingent such as Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli, Kamara would be the latest addition to Arteta’s youthful Gunners.

And a deal could be brokered with Marseille in talks to sign Angers midfielder Angelo Fulgini.

Corentin Tolisso

Tolisso is a bit of a forgotten figure at Bayern Munich.

Having made just four appearances in 2018-19, the Frenchman has only made another 36 in the league in the last two-and-a-half years, unable to seriously press Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Jamal Musiala’s places.

Having turned just 27 in the summer, he would be best served with a move away from Bavaria to the Emirates.

And he would add a midfield flair that has not been seen in north London for quite some time.

Jesse Lingard

This would be an interesting deal.

Lingard has rarely played for United this season, be it under Ralf Rangnick or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Warrington-born talent excelled on loan in the capital last season for West Ham.

And he could get a chance to display his talents next year in a new look Arsenal midfield.
