How Man Utd may line up under Solskjaer next season – with Sancho, Pogba and Grealish

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish when the transfer window reopens. And with Paul Pogba primed to stay, the Red Devils could have some side next season. Express Sport will now take a look at how United could look next season with the there superstars in their ranks.

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

United have seen David De Gea’s standards fall this season with the Spain international making a series of costly errors.

Yet Solskjaer has been keen to stand by the 29-year-old and is expected to still have him as his No 1 next term.

United have Dean Henderson ready to step up once he returns from his loan spell at Sheffield United.

They also have Sergio Romero who is more than capable of filling in.

But Solskjaer has backed De Gea repeatedly and is set to stand by his man next term, regardless of what happens before then.

Defence: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw

United don’t see any reason to tinker with their defence.

They’re happy with how Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire have fared since their arrivals from Crystal Palace and Leicester respectively.

Victor Lindelof can have some shaky moments but he, too, has the backing of Solskjaer.

And United have seen Luke Shaw improve considerably this term amid competition from Brandon Williams at left-back.

There’s so far been nothing to suggest the England international will lose his place in the side to his youngster team-mate – so the back four next term should remain unchanged.

Midfield: Paul Pogba, Jack Grealish and Bruno Fernandes

Pogba has somewhat reinvented himself in recent weeks, with the France international playing in a deeper central midfield position.

And with Grealish set to move to Old Trafford, Solskjaer will likely keep him in that position.

The Norwegian wants his side to be full of attacking threat – and therefore could throw Grealish and Fernandes together in midfield.

That could be done by keeping Pogba in a deeper role and having the pair play further ahead.

Attack: Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford

It has the potential to be the best front three on the planet.

United are hoping to sign Sancho and believe they’ll land their man, making him their marquee attacking signing of the transfer window in the process.

Anthony Martial would play in the No 9 role, with Mason Greenwood and Odion Ighalo acting as deputies.

And Marcus Rashford would pitch up on the left wing.
