Paris Saint-Germain have had a busy summer in the transfer market as they look to chase an elusive first Champions League trophy. They have built a mouthwatering squad at the Parc des Princes this summer and have been installed as early Champions League favourites.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be under intense pressure to bring the club success this season following the arrival of some of football’s biggest superstars.
Lionel Messi was welcomed to the club earlier this month after departing Barcelona.
Messi linked up with his former La Liga nemesis Sergio Ramos in France after the defender had already signed following his exit from Real Madrid.
PSG were also able to persuade Italy keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to move to Paris when his contract at AC Milan expired, while Gini Wijnaldum opted to join the French club rather than sign a new deal with Liverpool.
The four players are worth big money but PSG incredibly managed to land all of them on free transfers.

The Ligue 1 club are owned by mega-rich owners Qatar Sports Investments and PSG have also shelled out a combined total of around £65million for Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi and Porto’s Danilo Pereira.
And now Roma manager Jose Mourinho has had a sly dig at Pochettino following his summer of superstar signings.
“Do you know of any coach that is completely satisfied with his squad?” Mourinho replied to a question from a reporter about his side’s strength in depth.
“Maybe Pochettino, but nobody else.”
Mourinho has history with the PSG manager after the Portuguese replaced Pochettino as Tottenham boss in 2019.
Pochettino had been shown the door by Spurs following an indifferent start to the 2019/20 season.
“Mauricio has had four very good years at Spurs, brings them to the final for the Champions League, and he’s still waiting for the first trophy of his career,” Mourinho said following his appointment in north London.
“I feel very sorry for Mauricio but I think the English supporter is very loyal and they know when people give everything.
“They are a bit different than in other countries when everything is just about winning.
“I think the Tottenham fans are proud of their team. They still look to this team and this manager as a historical team for them.”
Mourinho was linked with the PSG job in 2019 but was apparently turned down after seeking assurances that he would be given ultimate power over the club’s superstar players.
And he has been critical of the standard of football in France in the past.
“Of course Ligue 1 is totally different,” Mourinho said during his time at Spurs.
“Two of my assistants come from the French league and they have experienced so many different situations.
“As an example, in January one of them was saying that the worst striker in the Premier League would play in any club in the French league but Paris Saint-Germain.
“To win at Paris Saint-Germain is not a magic work.”
