Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has concerns over whether United can get the best out of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho if they are all in the same squad next season. United are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Sancho, who is set to join for £73million from Borussia Dortmund.
If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sticks with the 4-2-3-1 system that worked so well for him last season, Edinson Cavani will likely start in attack, with talisman Bruno Fernandes just behind him.
Whilst Rashford or Greenwood could start in that central striker position, it looks likely that there are two positions for the three young English wingers to fill.
And Mourinho is worried that it could stunt the youngsters’ development if one or more of them fail to get regular game time for the Red Devils.
“Mason Greenwood was not in the Euros squad but could be there at the next World Cup when he will be much more mature,” says Mourinho in his latest piece in The Times.
“He has the talent, but it may depend on what happens at his club.

“At Manchester United, they have Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Greenwood.
“If one has an amazing season, does that mean another is not starting so many matches?”
Solskjaer won’t suffer from too many selection headaches at the start of the season, with Rashford set to miss the first couple of months of the campaign, as he is reportedly set to undergo shoulder surgery.
This could mean that Sancho and Greenwood get their chance to impress whilst he is on the sidelines.

United also have Anthony Martial and Dan James as options on the flanks.
With both drastically falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford, it is assumed that one or both of them will leave this summer however.
The possible addition of either Erling Haaland or Harry Kane could complicate things for United even further.
United have been linked with both the Dortmund and Tottenham strikers, but it remains to be seen whether they will pursue either of them after they extended Cavani’s contract earlier this summer.

United’s neighbours, Manchester City, seem to currently be the frontrunners in the race to sign Kane.
But there’s still a chance that the Red Devils sign the England international, with the club undoubtedly possessing the financial power to prise him away from north London.
Chelsea target Haaland is also an option for United this summer, despite rejecting the club back in January 2020.
United have remained admirers of the Norway international since then, especially after he scored 40 goals across all competitions for Dortmund last season.
