Laurent Koscielny sends message to Arsenal players after FA Cup win vs Chelsea

Former Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has congratulated his former teammates after the Gunners beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side went a goal behind early on as Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for Chelsea in the fifth minute.

But a penalty from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled Arsenal level before the break, and the striker netted his second of the game in the 67th minute to win the game for the Gunners.

And following Arsenal’s victory, Koscielny sent a message of congratulations to the players as he posted a picture on Instagram of the team’s celebrations at Wembley with the caption: ‘Well done boys for the trophy.’

Koscielny forced through his departure at Arsenal last summer and angered Gunners fans by removing the club’s jersey during his transfer announcement video with Bordeaux.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright said at the time that Koscielny should be ‘ashamed’ by his actions.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has also sent a message to the players following their latest FA Cup win.

The Spanish midfielder, who joined Qatari side Al Sadd from Villarreal last month, posted a picture of Arsenal’s team celebration photo on Instagram with the caption: ‘Well done boys one more for all of you!’

After securing Arsenal’s 14th FA Cup trophy, Arteta hailed it as the greatest moment of his career.

‘I think so. I’m really proud of what we have achieved because I know the difficulties and everything that we have been through,’ the Arsenal manager said after the game.

‘For me personally, it’s been so tough the last six months because of a lot of things that have happened in our lives.

‘But I had only one mission when I came here and it was to make the players and the staff believe that we could do it. We had to change that energy and that mentality.

‘Just by seeing them in the dressing room all together, the way they enjoy the professionalism and their time together… it makes me more proud and it’s a consequence of that, that afterwards we can achieve things and win titles together.’
