Leicester defender Dan Amartey has undergone “successful surgery” although the extent of his leg injury remains unclear.
The full-back was stretchered off after appearing to twist his left ankle towards the end of Leicester’s 1-1 draw against West Ham.
Following the match, a devastating helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium saw Leicester chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha among five people killed.
Amartey posted the injury update on Twitter, but used the message to pay tribute to Srivaddhanaprabha.
“Came out of a successful surgery, but devastating news about the demise of our chairman,” Amartey said.
Came out of a successful surgery, but devastating news about the demise of our chairman. A generous man, to whom @LCFC owes everything. I’m sure, you’re in a much better place. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the families of the victims affected by this tragedy pic.twitter.com/Vz7cfJgv4t
