Renato Sanches has insisted he is ready to leave Lille and seek a fresh challenge away from the Ligue 1 champions.
Reports in France last week suggested Arsenal are interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his midfield.
However, the report added the Gunners face a January battle with AC Milan, who have reportedly submitted an undisclosed offer for the Portugal international.

But speaking to L’Equipe, Sanches admitted he does not know if interest from the Premier League and Serie A giants – the latter who he described as a ‘big and historic club – is real, but said he was ready to leave should a suitable offer arrive.
‘Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don’t know,’ Sanches said. ‘Milan are a big and historic club. It’s class, I like them.
‘I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling and which are not, but I can’t tell now. But I know I’m ready. If an offer comes in, I’ll find out what’s best for me.’
Sanches has already represented one major European side but played just 53 matches for Bayern Munich across two torrid seasons either side of a loan move to Swansea, before sealing his move to France in 2019.
But they will face competition from Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan, who have reportedly made a bid
He claims he was not ready to play for such a high-profile club then, before adding that a summer move to LaLiga giants Barcelona was scuppered by a knee injury which forced him to go under the knife.
‘When I arrived at Bayern Munich, I was not ready to play in such a club,’ Sanches continued.
‘I was very young. And when I got ready, the opportunity to play with this team never came. Today I feel ready. I understand football better, I have more experience, I know what to do to play in this kind of club and that changes everything.
‘Many clubs were interested this summer, when I sustained the injury, I understood that I would have stayed at Lille.
‘It was all done with Barcelona, I think it all collapsed because of the injury.’
