Jesse Lingard has joined Nottingham Forest on a lucrative one-year contract.
The England winger has been at the centre of transfer speculation all summer after deciding to run out his contract with Manchester United. Lingard had been at Old Trafford for over two decades as a youth player and a first-team star but found opportunities limited last season.
He had been heavily linked with a move to West Ham, where he spent a productive spell on loan in 2021. But it has now emerged that he has snubbed the Hammers and David Moyes in favour of a move to newly-promoted Nottingham Forest, where he is expected to earn in the region of £200,000-per-week.

According to The Athletic, the 29-year-old England international has now completed a medical with the Premier League newcomers and will travel with Steve Cooper's squad to Germany on Friday ahead of their weekend fixture against Union Berlin.
Lingard's acquisition is another sign that Forest don't intend to rest on their laurels on their return to the top-flight for the first time since 1999.
The Midlanders have brought in a glut of players over the summer, including Taiwo Awoniyi, Neco Williams, Moussa Niakhate, Guilian Biancone, Omar Richards, Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo and Dean Henderson on loan.

West Ham had been consistently linked with a move for Lingard ever since his loan move to the London Stadium in 2021. The former United ace registered Nine goals and four assists in just 16 games with the Hammers, prompting speculation that he could join them permanently.
They even opened talks to sign the star this summer, who was also the subject of interest from Everton. But it is Forest who have won the race for the highly-coveted winger as they look to make a splash on their return to the Premier League.
