Many Liverpool fans spotted a surprise name in the full 34-man squad list for Liverpool's pre-season tour in the form of error-prone shot stopper Loris Karius.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will begin their preparations for the 2021/22 campaign in Salzburg, with a number of senior players set to report for duty including summer signing Ibrahima Konate.
The announcement that Karius would be part of the travelling squad sparked quite the reaction on social media among Liverpool supporters, with the general consensus against the idea.
One Reds fan wrote: "Now there’s a pic that scares life out of any lfc fan", underneath a shot of Karius in training.

Another claimed "I wish him good luck for the future, provided it’s away from Liverpool. I’m usually a forgiving soul, well that was until Kiev."
However, some Liverpool fans did try and rally behind their keeper ahead of what could be a chance for him to play his way back into Klopp's plans.
A more upbeat Liverpool supporter wrote: "He was a backup to provide competition for Mignolet and he did good until those blunders against Real Madrid. He could still be a good squad keeper for the team. He needs to know his place. When I watch him play, reminds me of the young David James with blonde hair."

Others claimed that the fact Karius was still employed at Liverpool simply slipped their mind, with one writing: "Loris Karius is actually still on our books I always forget."
That tweet was met with a number of replies downbeat over Karius' status as a Reds player, with another fan responding with "Don't remind me."
The German goalkeeper first signed for the Reds in 2016 for a fee of £4.75m, but his time at Anfield has had far more lows than highs, most notably coming in the 2018 Champions League final.
Up against Spanish giants Real Madrid, Karius committed not one but two disastrous mistakes which both led to Los Blancos first and third goals during their 3-1 victory in the biggest game in club football.
Much of that entire Champions League run was littered with Karius gaffes, including in games against the likes of Manchester City and AS Roma.
Following his dismal showing in the final, Karius could not hold back tears as he apologised to the few Liverpool fans who remained in the stands.
After Allison's arrival in July of 2018, Karius was demoted to back-up goalkeeper before he joined Turkish outfit Beşiktaş on a two-year loan deal just a month later.
Though his performances in the Super Lig were a drastic improvement from his Premier League displays, his time in Turkey ended under a cloud after he sought legal action against Beşiktaş for back payment of four months' wages which he alleged the club had failed to pay him.
Just over a year later, the 28-year-old terminated his contract due to continuing issues regarding unpaid wages and after completing the majority of the two years agreed.
Karius spent last term on loan in his home country plying his trade for Bundesliga side Union Berlin, but failed to make a single appearance until three months into his stay, it was February by the time he made his league debut.
