Diogo Jota may have already secured miss of the season just five matches into the Premier League campaign after he spurned a glorious opportunity to open the scoring for Liverpool against Crystal Palace. Jordan Henderson hung the ball up into the box and the Portuguese popped up at the back stick inside the six-yard box – only to fire over…

Jordan Henderson hung the ball up at the back post and it fell invitingly for Jota, who was totally unmarked.

Yet the former Wolves man struggled to get his knee over the ball, firing it over the bar and into the Anfield Road end with the goal at his mercy.

Palace keeper Vicente Guaita done his best to put Jota off by flying out of his goal but the ball still somehow cleared the Spaniard.
