Liverpool have been tipped to oversee a busy January transfer window in order to prepare for the absences of Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita and Sadio Mane during the second half of the season. The club’s African contingent will soon be gearing up for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is set to get underway in January.
However, it seems as though the Reds have already drawn up plans to add cover for the aforementioned trio ahead of the January window.
Club chiefs would like to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Villarreal maestro Arnaut Danjuma and Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer of Torino at the turn of the year, according to reports in Italy.
With that in mind, Express Sport takes a look at the Liverpool side that could line up in the Premier League during the Africa Cup of Nations next year.
Goalkeeper – Alisson
Alisson Becker has established himself as one of the division’s finest stoppers in recent years and will be expected to reprise his role between the sticks for the rest of the season.
He has already kept five clean sheets in the Premier League since the beginning of the campaign, with Liverpool conceding a total of 11 goals to date.

The Brazil international will need to stay on top form between now and next summer in order for the Reds to stand any chance of winning another Premier League title at the end of the season.
Defence – Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Bremer, Robertson
Liverpool’s back four will be largely unaffected by the Africa Cup of Nations, with Joel Matip set to avoid a call-up for Cameroon in order to stay on Merseyside.
However, a move for Torino’s Bremer could provide the Reds with a welcome boost in defence ahead of the business end of the campaign.
The 24-year-old has excelled during his time in Italy and looks to have all of the necessary ingredients to thrive in the Premier League in the event of a mid-season Anfield switch.
Midfield – Fabinho, Henderson, Brozovic
Brozovic is also understood to be on Liverpool’s radar in order to provide additional cover for Keita, who is expected to feature for Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The latter has impressed for the Reds in recent weeks after initially struggling to find his feet upon joining the club from RB Leipzig back in 2017.
A move for Brozovic would give Liverpool another established option in the middle of the park, with the Inter man able to offer his all round-quality and wealth of experience to aid the club’s Premier League title bid.
It seems likely that a January move could be on the cards due to the Croatian maestro’s ongoing contract dilemma, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Attack – Danjuma, Jota, Firmino
Liverpool are likely to miss Salah and Mane, who have already chipped in with 25 goals between them in all competitions.
However, if the Reds can seal a move for ex-Bournemouth winger Danjuma, they will be in good hands despite the international commitments of their established stars.
The Dutchman has excelled since joining Villarreal over the summer and is already said to be on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the January window.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota could be set to partner Danjuma out wide, while Roberto Firmino will be poised to assume if he recovers from a hamstring injury in time for next year.
Possible Liverpool XI (4-3-3) – Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Bremer, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Brozovic; Danjuma, Jota, Firmino.
