Lorenzo Insigne appears to already have made up his mind over a potential transfer to Manchester United. It comes amid his contract troubles at Napoli.
United have upped their interest in Insigne ahead of the January transfer window, reports in Italy say.
The forward’s contract expires next summer and could leave for nothing at the end of the season.
Napoli are desperate for that not to happen and have offered him a new deal.
However, negotiations already appear doomed with both parties miles away in terms of wages.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, Napoli have offered €4.6m-a-year (£3.9m) whereas Insigne is demanding as much as €7m-a-year (£5.94m).
The problems have led to an impasse and other clubs have become interested, including United.
The Red Devils see him as a fine option to have in attack as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to add to his squad.
And Insigne is also open to a move to Old Trafford and would love to experience the Premier League.
Tottenham are another interested party and had taken a closer look at a potential transfer in the past.
But the Red Devils would be the main option for the Italy international should he decide to leave Napoli.
However, the 30-year-old’s priority would be to find an optimal solution to his contract problem with his current club.
The winger has spent his entire career with the Naples side and would like to continue on in the south of Italy.
Insigne has made 406 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 111 times.
United, on the other hand, have plenty of attacking options with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood adapt at that slot on the left-hand side, while summer signings Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho can also play there.
