Erling Haaland’s dad and agent have been spotted arriving in Barcelona for reported transfer talks – coming as a major blow to potential suitors Manchester United and Manchester City.
Haaland is attracting plenty of attention in European football after scoring 33 goals in 31 games for Borussia Dortmund this season, with several clubs said to be eyeing up a summer transfer.
Premier League giants United and City were understood to be amongst the frontrunners to prise him away from Signal Iduna Park at the end of the campaign.
Yet in a huge blow to both clubs, Haaland’s dad and advisor Alf-Inge, along with agent Mino Raiola, were spotted arriving at Barcelona El-Prat Airport.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Haaland Sr and Raiola were picked up in a car driven by newly elected club president Joan Laporta’s personal assistant shortly after arriving in the city.
Before winning the election last month, Laporta hinted at a move for the 20-year-old sensation in the summer transfer window.
When asked if they could move for Haaland, he said: “If we have to improve the team, I already have the cards ready for the players.
“I have the cards to face all situations.
“Barca supporters can be sure that their club will soon be prosperous again.”
Barca are currently dealing with financial problems, which come amidst negotiations to renew Lionel Messi’s contract three months before its expiry.

However, it is believed Laporta enjoys a strong working relationship with Raiola, meaning the Spanish club are in good stead to win the hotly-contested race for Haaland this summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims the Norway striker’s representatives held talks with Dortmund in recent days to clarify his future.
The Bundesliga outfit could receive as much as £150million for their star man, who will reportedly command a staggering salary worth £600,000 per week.
