Manchester United are on the verge of announcing Jadon Sancho as their marquee signing of the summer after previously confirming a £73million deal with Borussia Dortmund, and all eyes will now be on what shirt number the winger will wear.
The Sancho transfer saga is now over, and the England international will be a United player next season.
The Red Devils have paid out £73m to sign the right winger, but are yet to confirm what shirt number he will wear.
Having adorned the number seven shirt during his time at Dortmund, he was widely expected to take that number at Old Trafford.
However, that number is still held by Edinson Cavani, and United have now hinted he will continue wearing it.
United released their new kit for next season on Thursday, and fans were given the chance to customise the shirt with 'Cavani 7' on the back.
It should be noted that clubs have, in the past, been forced to change shirt numbers prior to the start of the season.
In 2016, then-Chelsea winger Pedro switched from wearing the number 17 to number 11, and the Blues offered free exchanges to anyone with proof of purchase.
It remains possible that Sancho will be given the number seven shirt upon the official announcement of his signing.

Sancho travelled to Manchester earlier this week to complete his medical and put pen to paper on his contract at United.
The winger then jetted off on holiday with new club team-mate Marcus Rashford.
The pair have been given three weeks off before being asked to return for pre-season following the conclusion of the European Championships.
United aren't expected to stop splashing the cash after bringing in Sancho, as reports suggest they're closing in on Raphael Varane as well.
The Real Madrid centre-back is said to have been in talks with United over personal terms after the Old Trafford side received the green light from the Bernabeu.
The only stumbling block now will be agreeing a fee with the Spanish side, with Madrid set to demand £40m to sell.
